The Devitt MCN Festival of Motorcycling Sale 14th May 2022 1 + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) Welcome Welcome to The Devitt MCN Festival of Motorcycling Show, and not only Silverstone Auctions’ first time at this event, but the first time this event has seen a Motorcycle Auction in 45 years. After our success at the MCN Motorcycle Show London earlier this year we are delighted to be partnering with MCN again this weekend to auction 170 Motorcycles, all of them showcased within this catalogue and more in-depth descriptions and additional photographs can be found on our website. Perhaps the most talked about motorcycle is the conceptual ‘speedy mechanical errand boy’; the c1950 Turner By-Van. The very same one that featured on an episode of American Pickers back in 2015 when the team tried and failed to buy the vehicle from its late owner. Offered here without reserve, bidders have an extremely rare, if not unique, opportunity to acquire a piece of Midlands automotive history. Also on offer is a 1990 Honda VFR750R Type RC30 748cc, never registered and showing two ‘push miles’ from new. Developed by Honda with one aim in mind, to win the World Superbike Championship, the RC30 was famously ridden to victory by Carl Fogarty in the TT World Championship in 1988 and 1989. All the motorcycles will be available for viewing on Saturday morning from 9am and this is your opportunity to inspect the machines and any associated history files prior to bidding. Our team of experts will also be on hand to assist you during this time and to answer any questions you may have. The live auction begins at 12 noon and bidding will be available in person, or alternatively we offer three absentee bidding options: online, by phone or via commission. Please contact us on 01926 691141 to register prior to the auction. The auction will also be livestreamed on our website and YouTube channel should you not be able to join us on the day. I hope you have a superb day of bidding and look forward to welcoming you back to our other auctions later this year, details of which can be found at the back of this catalogue.
