Registered in Saudi Arabia • The 1948 FL was the first year for the new Panhead engine and last year for Harley’s original springer forks, which would give way to the telescopic Hydra-Glide front end in ‘49 • The Heritage bikes were pure retro with a ‘springer’ front end and ‘softail’ rear • Harley-Davidson built only 1,857 Heritage Springers in 2001 for worldwide distribution • 1 of only 150 Softail Springers from 2001 in the Red and Black Retro finish • Air cooled, 1449cc, 45° V-twin, OHV. 62.5bhp, 5-speed gearbox, belt final drive • In superb condition with only 22,500 miles from new Harking back to the 1940s Harley-Davidson Panheads, this model’s front end boasts an exposed spring suspension, full floating fender (mudguard) and period-look horn. The classic tooled leather, crossover exhaust pipes with dual- fishtail silencers, leather saddlebags, ‘tombstone’ taillight and whitewall tires look spectacular.
