The engine was essentially the same as the standard Turbo but was fitted with VarioCam Plus, a further development of the familiar VarioCam system, which changes both the intake camshaft timing (by as much as 25 degrees) as well as the intake valve lift. Bigger turbos, from the X50 Powerkit, were fitted boosting output to 450 bhp and the car’s top speed broke through that magic 300 km/h barrier, with a maximum of 190 mph (307 km/h) placing it firmly in supercar territory. PCCB Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes were fitted to the ‘S’ as standard.
