The Classic Sale At Silverstone Festival 25th - 27th August 2023

5 BIDDING You can bid in person, online, via commission or on the telephone. However you choose to bid you will need to provide one form of identification, such as a driving licence or passport, to complete your registration process. Bidding in the room Nothing beats the excitement and adrenaline rush of bidding in person at a live auction. Please head to the registration desk in Hall 2 at The Wing to register and obtain a bidder paddle. If you wish to bid during the auction, raise your hand or paddle number. Commission bids A commission bid is the maximum amount you are willing to bid up to (excluding the buyer’s premium and VAT). The Auctioneer will execute your bid as low as possible on your behalf. You can register in person when viewing the lots prior to the auction, via our website or by emailing Telephone bidding Telephone bidding will still allow you to bid live. On the day of the sale a member of the Iconic Auctioneers team will contact you, usually a few lots prior to your selected lots, and will guide you through the process, relaying the auctioneer’s bids to you and bidding on your instruction. You can also leave a commission bid in the event that we are unable to contact you via telephone. You can register in person when viewing lots prior to the auction, via our website or by emailing Online bidding You can bid online on the day via our website. You will need to register an account on our website and click on ‘Register to bid online’ to be able to do this. There is no additional fee for online bidding via our website. Iconic Auctioneers has also partnered with The Saleroom. Registration for internet bidding with our partner is done on their website. Please go to for more information and direct links. Please note that online bidding with our partner incurs an additional fee of 1% plus VAT. DOCUMENTATION You can inspect the vehicle files at our documents desk at the auction. We recommend you inspect the paperwork prior to the auction to satisfy yourself as to the completeness of any history files, spares etc. SALEROOM NOTICES A saleroom notice is issued when a pertinent change in the information provided on an item is made after the catalogue is finalised and published. If a lot has a saleroom notice, this will be displayed on the individual lot page on the website, it will be displayed in the auction hall and will be read out by the Auctioneer prior to the lot being auctioned. WARRANTIES The catalogue will describe the lots to the best of our ability on information supplied. You should, however, satisfy yourself as to the condition, age and integrity of any lot prior to bidding as no warranties whatsoever are given in relation to any lot. Once the hammer falls a contract is made and you are obligated to proceed with the purchase. It is therefore vital that you are satisfied to the best of your ability with the condition of the lot you intend to bid upon before doing so. VEHICLE REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS Iconic Auctioneers will retain the V5C registration document and a member of the administration team will contact you after the auction to confirm the details for registering the vehicle. If we have not heard from you within two weeks of the sale we will register the vehicle to the name and address you provided when registering at the auction. Some lots will require a NOVA declaration to be completed. This will be stated in the catalogue description. The responsibility for this rests with the buyer. Our transport partner, EM Rogers, can carry out this process on your behalf for a fee of £50 plus VAT. Please contact them on for further information. FINANCE Buyers should ensure they have the necessary funds available to make payment before bidding. We have partnered with Oracle Car Finance, the UK’s number one funder for prestige, sports and classic cars, who can help get you approved before the auction with an agreement in principle.
