The name Mulsanne is derived from Bentley’s famous history, which included five victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1924 and 1930 - the ‘Mulsanne Straight’ being the stretch of the Le Mans race track where cars reach their highest speeds. The Mulsanne shared the traditional 6.75-litre Rolls-Royce V8 with aluminium alloy cylinder heads of its predecessor the Bentley T2 and on later models Bosch fuel-injection replaced the SU carburettors. All models continued to use the three-speed automatic transmission. By 1987, the Mulsanne was looking in need of a refresh so the company decided to spice it up with the introduction of the Mulsanne S. Many details were carried over from the mid-production Turbo R, including the alloy wheels, classic interior and the firmer suspension for a more sporting ride. The exterior design changes included the replacement of the rectangular headlamps from the 1980s to quad round units in 1989. Manufacturing carried on until 1992 with the total production of the Mulsanne S remaining beneath 1,000 units. This stunning Bentley Mulsanne S was first registered on 30th August 1991, making it one of the later models produced, and has covered just 29,000 miles with four keepers in total. It was supplied new by Dutton Forshaw Rolls Royce of Preston finished in Vermillion over a classic Mulsanne interior with Parchment leather, piped in St James Red with rear footrests piped in Parchment, and full red lambs wool rugs. The car is in fabulous condition throughout with a fully documented service history including ten stamps, and recently had new tyres all round and all four wheels refurbished. The most recent large invoice was for £3,400 by Prestige Services of Leeds, a Bentley specialist, dated April 2022 (700 miles ago) and included a full service and a replacement steering rack. This glamorous Mulsanne looks and drives amazingly well and has only covered roughly 3,000 miles in the last 14-years, surely one for the enthusiast. This brightly-hued Mulsanne S has covered just over 29,000 miles and remains in fabulous condition. More Details Lot 695 Bid On Lot 695
