The Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2023 Cars 170 Registration: L563 YAV Chassis No.: VF10ZY10649924840 Estimate: £22,000 - £26,000 Specialist: Charles Smalley Telephone No: 07421 007866 Lot 662 2013 RenaultSport Mégane ‘Red Bull’ RB8 - 300 Miles From New In 2013, to celebrate their third Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship title, Renault and Red Bull Racing released a new, limited-edition Mégane RS Red Bull Racing RB8. Painted in the exclusive Crépuscule Blue colour used by the Red Bull F1 team, combined with Platinum Grey details such as the F1 blade, door handle, door mirror housings and rear lip spoiler, the sports hatch also displayed Red Bull graphics at the rear and on the sides. The cars sat on fabulous, black 19’’ Steev alloys with high-performance Bridgestone tyres. On the inside, the RB8 featured Red Bull Racing branding on the numbered aluminium sill guards and carpet mats and the logo also appeared on the headrests of the Recaro seats, which were trimmed in new leather/fabric upholstery. Mechanically, the new car was pretty well the same as the Mégane RS Trophy edition, featuring a ‘Cup’ chassis, limited-slip differential, and 265bhp and 360Nm of torque squeezed out of a 1,998cc, 16v, four-cylinder turbo. The remarkable example on offer here is #791 of 891 worldwide, but it’s one of only 30 right-hand drive cars that made it to the UK, with one being retained by Renault. #791 was selected by RBR to be specially prepared and offered as a gift from Sebastian Vettel and RenaultSport to Calerm Yoovidhya, the Thai national and majority share holder of the Red Bull empire, to commemorate their multiple F1 Championship victories. The car is currently owned by Rob Marshall who acquired it in 2020. At the time, Rob was Red Bull Racing’s Chief Engineering Officer, having previously been Chief Designer working alongside Adrian Newey, providing Sebastian Vettel with the required tools to win his four World Championships. Having spent most of its life in storage, the unrepeatable low-mileage of 300 is fully warranted, and despite having not gone anywhere, it has been serviced as required and recently had a cambelt change dictated by time rather than mileage. A potent, limited-edition ‘hot hatch’ with a story to tell that will be at home with any F1 fanatic or eclectic collector. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged. . A special edition produced to celebrate Red Bull’s Third F1 Constructors Title, one of only 30-UK cars, just 300 miles and an interesting history. More Details Lot 662 Bid On Lot 662
