165 + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) on the first £300,000 of the hammer and 10% plus VAT (12% incl VAT) thereafter Lot 467 2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti F1 Registration: TBA Chassis No.: ZFFAY54C000139580 Estimate: £60,000 - £70,000 As a mark of respect for their decades-long working relationship, Ferrari named the 612 after the legendary Sergio Scaglietti, whose famous design house ‘Carrozzeria Scaglietti’ was responsible for the look of some of the most stunning coachbuilt Ferraris in the fifties and sixties. The design of the 612 is said to have been inspired by the 1954 Rossellini-Bergman custom 375MM, which was commissioned by film director Roberto Rossellini for his lovely wife, the actress Ingrid Bergman. The model features deep side scallops and large headlights together with a long, sleek silhouette and the result is an imposing, unusual looking car, projecting dynamism and power. This sporty front-engined, rear-wheel drive Berlinetta is a paradox Ferrari, being an energetic car to drive, yet also having four full seats for passengers, making it suitable for longer journeys and city use too. A genuine departure from previous GT models, the 612 Scaglietti’s transaxle transmission sees the rear-mounted, 6-speed, F1 gearbox working with the limited-slip differential in a shared function and this, combined with the first-ever all-aluminium body on a 12-cylinder Ferrari, makes for fantastic dynamics as well as improved comfort and safety. This fabulous example is presented to auction in the very stylish colour combination of Grigio Titanium with a Bordeaux leather interior. The factory specification also included extended leather, including headliner, embossed head-rests, tyre pressure monitor system and Scuderia wing shields. More recently, for modern connectivity the 612 has been upgraded with an Alpine media system that provides excellent DAB radio, Satellite navigation and mobile phone sync, however, the original Ferrari unit forms part of the sale should the new owner wish to reinstate at some point in the future. During our vendor’s term of ownership, the car has been stored along with other landmark classics from his Collection in a humidity- controlled environment and maintained correctly. Accompanying the car is the original book pack with service book stamped up-to-date showing regular maintenance from Ferrari or known specialist garages, the most recent entry being a full service with Ferrari including belts dated September 2021. Also present is the tool kit, trickle charger and spare keys. Very few of the 612 Scaglietti’s mass-produced contemporaneous rivals have faired as well in the current market as this model. The 612’s classically modern styling, unmistakably Italian interior, smooth yet ferocious performance and the silky 6-speed automatic F1-style gearbox is without compare. This car is undoubtedly the connoisseur’s choice and this is a great opportunity to add a landmark Ferrari sports car to your collection or perhaps just use the car on a regular basis enjoying the fact that very few people will recognise it for the special car it is. NB; The cherished Registration Number illustrated does not form part of the sale. New registration paperwork has been applied for. A fast, understated four-seater GT from Ferrari, stylishly presented in Grigio Titanium with Bordeaux Red leather. More Details Lot 467 Bid On Lot 467
