Supercar Fest Sale of Iconic and Classic Cars 2023 20th May 2023

42 Supercar Fest Sale of Iconic and Classic Cars 2023 - Cars Registration: DC56 TEG Chassis No.: DC52306225 Estimate: £15,000 - £20,000 Lot 817 2006 Honda Integra DC5 Type-R The fourth-generation Integra, coded DC5, was introduced in Japan on 13th April 2001 and was produced between July 2001 and August 2006. It came equipped with an entirely new, in-house built Honda engine, the magical K-Series, which rapidly received praise for its performance, reliability, and sound. Manufactured exclusively for the Japanese market, the Type-R was fitted with the K20A engine, a 2-litre DOHC I-VTEC engine producing 220bhp. Mechanically, the Type-R benefited from four-piston Brembo front brakes, a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox, a limited-slip differential, 17” 5 double-spoke wheels, a front strut bar and many more mechanical upgrades. The interior is a wonderful place to be with its leather MOMO steering wheel, reclining Recaro bucket seats and lots of aluminium trim. This car is in simply outstanding condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Finished in the classic Integra colours, Championship White with Red Recaros, this DC5 Type-R was produced in 2006 making it one of the final cars to run off the production line. Having covered a warranted 48,600 miles from new, this low-mileage example was imported by BHP Imports in 2015 on 30,174 miles by the first UK owner before being purchased by our vendor in 2018. The paintwork, bodywork, lights and wheels all look factory-fresh with the interior in remarkable order. The car has been serviced both in Japan and the UK, warranting the mileage with a stamped Japanese service book and UK invoices from BHP Imports, Honda, Finishline and two DIY services with invoices for all parts and work undertaken. Alongside the invoices, there is a comprehensive summary sheet denoting the service intervals, MOT intervals and the list of upgrades. Within the file there are old MOTs, plenty of invoices and original Owners Handbooks, service books and a Scorpion alarm booklet. The car benefits from a small selection of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. It’s fitted with a Mugen cat-back exhaust system, Bilstein B14 adjustable coil-overs, Eibach front camber bolts, DME rear camber arms and TGM brake lines. If a totally standard spec is desired, the original camber bolts and camber arms are in the boot. Internally the only deviation from standard specification is the upgraded Pioneer head unit. It’s hard to overstate just what a fantastic car the Integra Type-R is, and the DC5 is arguably one of the best handling front-wheel drive cars ever produced. Especially at the time, it was almost inconceivable that a performance car with 220bhp could hit nearly 40mpg and retain faultless reliability. Representing real value in the skyrocketing JDM sector of the market, with prices rising rapidly, it is almost ‘mission impossible’ to find such an original, unmodified example, especially with such low mileage, and this super example may turn out to be a sensible investment. A simply immaculate, low-mileage example of one of the finest front-wheel drive cars ever built, with comprehensive history from new.
