Today, a correctly specified car in the right condition continues to offer a very special driving experience. This particular example is a desirable first series NA1 car, finished in Formula Red coachwork with a black roof and black leather interior. Delivered new to Japan and specified with 5-speed manual transmission rather than the buzz-kill automatic unit, this right-hand drive example was imported to the UK in November 2003 and was subsequently owned by Le Mans 24-Hour Veteran and BRDC member Simon Phillips. Owned by our vendor since 2014, this NSX has benefited from the ideal combination of regular maintenance and use. The cambelt, brake discs and pads were replaced in 2015 at some 80,000 miles and new front brake calipers have since been fitted alongside new Bilstein front dampers. Last serviced in 2018, the car has been correctly stored since. Subtle BOSE door speakers and modern head unit now adorn the interior, which presents as well as the rest of the car. Now showing just over 93,000 miles (or 151,000km) from new at the time of cataloguing, this NSX is a truly usable modern classic with near-mythical dynamics and illustrious history – and a sports exhaust system, too.
