Classic Cars - Saturday 22nd February 2020 Race Retro Classic & Competition Car Sale 2020 112 • Dramatic Callum-penned bodywork with the debut of the bonded aluminium platform • Fitted with a 6-litre V12 producing 460bhp and 400lb.ft • UK-supplied, right-hand drive with only 7,500 miles from new (atoc) • Finished in special-order Cannadi Fucile with a Pacific Blue interior • The cherished registration number 3 ABN is generously included in the sale • One of the best examples available and will reward any inspection Unveiled at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, the Ian Callum- designed Vanquish was an instant sales success and the fact that it was James Bond’s transport of choice only added to the appeal. Featuring a 6.0-litre V12 generating nearly 450bhp mated to a six-speed paddle-shift gearbox, the car sat proudly at the top of Aston’s range throughout its seven years of production. Aston Martin’s position as the ultimate makers of British sports cars continues, bolstered by the muscular Vanquish, and when sprinkled with a little magic from the James Bond ‘Die Another Day’ connection, the image was complete. This UK-supplied, right-hand drive Aston Martin Vanquish has covered just 7,500 miles from new (at the time of cataloguing) in the hands of its three owners. It’s finished in the stunning special-order colour of Cannadi Fucile, complemented by a Pacific Blue interior and has been part of our vendor’s significant private collection since 2008. During his ownership, the Vanquish has been kept in a professional de-humidified storage facility and presents very nicely indeed in the metal. The owner informs us he will arrange for the car to be freshly serviced and MOTd in time for the sale at Race Retro. This is a fabulous example, fresh to market after 12 years of caring private ownership and its owner is generously including the private plate 3 ABN in the sale. This striking Vanquish will ensure that you stand out from the crowd in a contemporary classic and we thoroughly recommend coming to the 2020 Race Retro auction to see this V12 GT car in the metal for yourself.
