A world-first in production bikes • 300bhp and slick tyres mean that the H2R is track focussed and not road-legal • One of only 27 UK examples from 2015. Offered originally at £41,000 • Just two owners and delivery miles only. Unused and, effectively, brand new • An amazing machine. Accompanied by supplying dealers and manufacturer’s correspondence Kawasaki made motorcycle history back in 2015 with the launch of the outstanding Ninja H2R. It’s a track-focused sports bike powered by a liquid-cooled 998 cc inline-four engine with a supercharger, producing 305.8 bhp at 14,000 rpm and maximum torque at 12,500 rpm. When enhanced by the 15 bhp from ram-air, that’s around 320bhp - roughly the same as a 30-seater school bus. The bike’s specification includes Steel trellis frame with single-sided swingarm, dual 330 mm discs up front with Brembo M50 four-piston calipers, 250 mm disc at the rear with Brembo two-piston caliper, non-switchable ABS and adjustable engine braking, adjustable 43 mm KYB AOS-II fork, adjustable KYB shock, 9-level traction control, cruise control, 4->1 exhaust system, Ohlins steering damper, quick-shifter, full LED lighting and a 6-speed gearbox. Each bike is built and inspected by a single technician in the Akashi factory in Japan and according to the official Kawasaki website, the H2R comes with a vehicle acknowledgement document. So, for your £41,000 list price what else did you get and what information is relayed? • Front and rear paddock stands and front and rear tyre warmers (don’t even think about cold tyres) • The H2R should only be run on Bridgestone Racing Battlax V01F with specific compounds • Instructions on how to store the vehicle off the ground • Service inspections are required every 15 hours of engine operation above 8,000rpm • A 120dB exhaust, oh, and no kind of warranty Despite these apparent drawbacks, the UK allocation sold out pretty quickly, one of them going to the owner of the example offered here, which was purchased from Seastar Superbikes in August 2015. Presented in unused, effectively brand new condition, this awesome machine comes with supplying dealers and manufacturer’s correspondence relating to its purchase. The last word goes to Bike magazine - “Know this: the new H2R isn’t a game-changer. It’s way more than that. This is a life-changer. There isn’t another production vehicle on the planet that gets anywhere near the relentless power, head- splitting noise, and bloody-hell-fire-sweet-lord-help-me-now performance of Kawasaki’s utterly mental H2R”.
