46 Race Retro Classic and Competition Car Sale 2023 - Cars Registration: TBC Chassis No.: 12414 Estimate: £30,000 - £35,000 Lot 336 1994 Escort Cosworth Sprint/Hill climb Originally owned and run by Motorsport Vision this particular Escort has recently been totally rebuilt as a Sprint and Hillclimb car on a Ford Motorsport 909 ‘Group N’ shell, Serial No 799, that has been stitch-welded and fitted with a welded-in roll-cage. Externally, the bonnet and wings are genuine Cosworth with fibreglass side-skirts and spoilers all expertly finished in instantly recognisable ‘Repsol’ colours. Mechanically, it is running a standard engine which has been refreshed by Bob Dowen Rally Services of Cwmbran and built up based on a ‘205’ block with new piston rings and seals as required. Forced induction is courtesy of a fully reconditioned Sierra Cosworth Garrett T3 Turbo and vented through a new 3” stainless steel exhaust system. The radiator is new as is the RS 500 Intercooler and Roose Motorsport hose kit. A ‘works’ Group N gearbox was sourced having been originally fitted to the 1990 Kenny McKinstry winning car and the remainder of the running gear is Sierra Cosworth 2wd, retardation is assisted by 6 and 4-Pot Compbrake Calipers which are encased within new ‘Rota’ wheels fitted with new Max Sport 225-40-R18 tyres.
