Developed by the renowned historic race engineers Crosthwaite and Gardiner and based on Rick Stevens’ original concept, this particular example, build No 42, was completed by Rick Stevens himself with subtle modifications including a handmade aluminium nose cone with appropriate grille and polished aluminium cycle wings in the style of a 1950s cycle winged sports racer. The substantial tubular space frame is home to a modified Jaguar 3.8-litre, six-cylinder engine breathing through triple Dellorto carburettors sitting on a Lynx inlet manifold. Engine internals include high compression pistons and modified cams all mated to a 5-speed Getrag gearbox, limited-slip differential and wide track suspension. For safety, an MSA-Certified roll-bar is fitted which can be removed, if desired, for road use. Correctly registered in the UK, this exceptional Kougar is on the button and ready to be enjoyed once again be that on the road or circuit, the choice is yours. Professionally built by Crosthwaite and Gardiner and further developed by Robin Beech, this 3.8-litre Jaguar-engined Kougar offers back to basics driving in its purest form.
