It’s the return of NSV 288 to its showroom-fresh best • Supplied with its UK V5c, Heritage Certificate, MOT (24/07/2020), buff logbook, and full details of the restoration A home-market, right-hand drive car, NSV 288 was assembled on chassis number 45288 and was completed on 19/08/1960. It has spent its whole life in the UK, still sporting its original registration number and was found languishing in a garage in Hampshire. The Sprite was finished in Leaf Green but upon examination, the quality of the repairs was such that it was decided that a full restoration was appropriate. The body shell was stripped back to bare metal, panels replaced as needed with new, UK-supplied items and seam-welded to form invisible repairs. The entire shell was powder-coated to ensure a rust-free future. Primrose Yellow was the chosen colour and the little car has been superbly finished in this delightful, summer-fresh hue. Mechanically, no expense was spared with a total of 1,882 parts replaced. The complete drive chain, engine, gearbox, prop shaft, differential, and back axle were re-engineered to better than original condition, all brake parts were renewed, the front suspension and steering mechanism has been replaced, and the fuel system was updated with a new tank, fuel lines, electric petrol pump and inline filter. The SU carburettors were stripped and professionally rebuilt before being refitted and carefully set-up. The original chrome has been re-plated to better than factory specification and the interior looks showroom-fresh with new black leather seats, new black floor and boot carpets, new trim, and a new wood-rim steering wheel and gear knob. The classic Sprite dashboard has been recovered and all the gauges restored and re-calibrated. The hood frame was stripped and powder-coated and a new black hood and tonneau cover completed the restoration. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a fully restored, period-correct, Frog Eye Sprite. The build quality and finish is outstanding and needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. 1960 Austin Healey Sprite Mk1 (948cc) LOT 258 More Images Lot 258 Bid On Lot 258
