A correct and original Westfalia camper Presented here is a left-hand drive 1979 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper which was supplied new to California and never left the sunny state before being imported to the UK by our vendor in 2015. A blue-plate bus, this example is finished in Taiga Green with a Sage Green plaid interior and features a rear-hinged new pop-top canvas, rock-n-roll bed, sink, fridge and captain seats at the front. In 2016 the bus was stripped and glass removed before it was taken back to bare metal to reveal straight and original rust-free body panels which were then prepared for respraying in this striking original colour. Undoubtedly, the warm California climate has been kind to the camper and, once the paint was off, it was possible to see just how well- preserved it was with the floor pan in super condition and still wearing the factory underseal. Invoices for £6,500 for the re-commission are in the history file. The VW is powered by a traditional 2.0-litre, flat-four mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, and in the file is a bill for £1,000 relating to a new cylinder head recently fitted by Vee-Dubs of Kent. The file also contains the V5c and a number of other invoices and related documents.
