May 2019 at 15,076 miles (£1,516), February 2018 at 14,780 miles (£672) • Replacement clutch, new tyres, wheels refurbed in January 2016 at 14,290 (£3,500) • Complete with its original stamped service book, indoor car cover, blue leather wallet and two sets of keys A six-speed manual version of the 4200 Spyder was offered, however, most buyers went for the six-speed F1 Cambiocorsa electrohydraulic paddle-shift transmission with four modes which altered various characteristics (throttle response, traction control, suspension stiffness etc) in order to give the optimum performance for the chosen mode. Mated to Maserati’s ‘Skyhook’ suspension which allowed each damper to react in milliseconds, it added up to a devastatingly rapid cross-country machine which felt even faster than the figures suggested: 385bhp and 332lb/ ft; 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds; 178mph top speed. Supplied new by Lancaster Ferrari & Maserati, Colchester, Essex this stunning 4200 Spyder Cambiocorsa was first registered during January 2003. It was ordered in Rosso Bologna with a Bordeaux hood and 15-spoke silver alloys. The interior is classic Maserati with Avorio and Bordeaux leather, Rosso carpets, Walnut-rimmed steering wheel and door caps and the traditional oval clock. Our vendor is the car’s fourth keeper and acquired it in January 2008 at 10,432 miles. He tells us “I have averaged some 450 miles per annum (in dry weather). I had the chrome replated in Walsall as the Italian chrome doesn’t compare. The wheels are completely refurbished and clutch replaced and new tyres two or three years ago”. The car has a comprehensive service history with the original stamped service book showing regular attention. The most recent service was by JP Performance Cars Ltd of Burntwood at 15,076 miles, in May 2019 (£1,516.33) and prior to that in February 2018 at 14,780 miles (£672.00). JP also serviced the car in April 2016 at 14,290 miles and the account for £3,500 included a clutch replacement. Naturally, the relevant invoices for the above are in the owner’s file alongside earlier invoices and MOT’s and the current MOT valid until March 2020. The Maserati has a bespoke car cover, a phonecard, a new blue leather wallet and two sets of keys. Totally pampered and immaculate. Undoubtedly a ‘Best of Breed’ contender. 2003 Maserati 4200 Spyder Cambiocorsa LOT 203 More Images Lot 203 Bid On Lot 203
