72 The Shuttleworth Motorcycle Sale 2023 Lot 617 1982 Yamaha TZ500J 497cc This fabulous 1982 TZ500J has been owned privately for most of its life and, we understand, has never been raced. • Supplied on original crate tyres, this is one of the last TZ500s produced by Yamaha at the Race HQ in Japan in 1982; based on Kenny’s 1979 Wold Championship winner • This particular example has been owned privately for most of its life and, from what we believe, has never been raced • The bodywork is all-original, as is the aluminium tank • Believed to have been delivered to Mitsui Yamaha UK in 1982, before being sold and exported to Italy in 2002, where it was inspected by the Morbidelli Museum, and was confirmed to be correct • Whilst in Italy, the bike received a fluid change and clutch seal replacement due to an oil leak through lack of use.We understand that the engine has been run since and now shows some signs of use • An incredibly rare opportunity to purchase a genuine piece of Yamaha racing history.
