51 + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) Lot 578 c.1919 Royal Ruby 2 3/4 hp 350cc • The Ruby Cycle Company made bicycles initially and then motorcycles from 1909 to 1932 • The factory was firstly in Ancoats in Manchester, then from 1919 moved to Altrincham in Cheshire • Considered in the day to be expensive compared the competition due to the company producing most of the components, apart from engines, in-house • This c.1919 350cc example is likely to be a very early Altrincham-produced machine as can be seen from the crank cases and Druid forks • Restored by a previous owner to its current condition and still fitted with its acetylene light kit • A nice addition to any vintage collection • Not currently registered and may need some light recommissioning before road use.
